This is how to Analyse The Therapeutic Functions Of The Various Decoctions part 102

Hey, I'm back after a short break and will start on the new topic called:

Relief Shock and Resuscitation

We had done quite a bit on Pediatric indigestion and it is time to discuss the difference between the three formulae dedicated for children indigestion.

Bao He Wan

"Stimulate digestion, removes retained food and regulate the stomach function". It is used in cases where there is "retention of undigested food with epigastric and abdominal distension, foul belching, acid regurgitation and loss of appetite".

Xiao Ru Wan

Can ease blockage especially at the Hypopharynx region. Therefore there's necessity to understand where, what and why the Hypopharynx region and in short is responsible for swallowing.

Swallowing and then get digested is the sequence and whatever not digested would cause vomitting. Clearly the observations of more vomitting over Diarrhoea is the critical discrimination in choosing Xiao Ru Wan.

The last choice is

Ease Indigestion and Unblock Stagnation through the defecation. Clearly, the complaint of constipation follow by Diarrhoea is the discriminating factor to choose Zhi Shi Dao Zhi Wan.

Remember:

Indigestion and Stagnation are all caused by wetness and heat generated within the mid section.

And the reason to apply the correct formula are depicted with observations and not guessing the right answer.

So,the how to analyse the therapeutic functions of the various decoctions part 102 will be continued in the next blog.

The new topic:

Relief Shock and Resuscitation

usually applied to Pediatric convulsion and epilepsy. The observed symptoms and the applicable relevant TCM terminologies would more or less narrow down to which formula to be used.  (Please refer to blogs written in year 2021)

The usual treatment formula with the relevant terminology are as follow:

Zhu Sha An Shen Wan

Ci Zhu Wan

Ling Jiao Gou Teng Tang

An Gong Niu Huang Wan

Zhi Bao Dan

Su He Xiang Wan

Xiao Er Hui Chun Dan

I'll elaborate further as l break down the formula to discriminate between these formulas in each category in my later blogs.

So there are too many herbs to be studied in these blogs and I'll stop here and let you have more time to digest them and no vomitting.

Best of all,

Xiong
