Hey, I'm back again to write this new blog regarding the next stage of growth development of the infant. So the term is Early Childhood, depicting the period of childhood growth from 1 to 3 years old. Early Childhood is a time of tremendous physical, cognitive, social-emotional and language development. During this period, the growth rate of body size is much slower than the infant stage. Physiological function development is heading increasingly toward perfection. 20 Deciduous teeth will erupt throughout this stage, in which 10 will be found on the lower jaw and 10 in the upper. The sequence and arrangement generally can be depicted as per the chart and diagram are shown below.
Deciduous Teeth
20 Deciduous teeth are in the following order:
So there should be a break around 10 months in between different categories.
10 Upper Deciduous Teeth
Some toddlers can arrive at this milestone earlier and again the rest will catch up later.
At the same time, language, social-emotional, sensory-motor and cognitive activities continue to develop rapidly.
Weaning should start now at 1 year old progressively. How much your baby eats at the beginning is less important than getting the baby used to the idea to eat. Always start with some soft and easy to digest food items, since the change over is progressive, illness on indigestion issues like vomiting and diarrhoea can be avoided.
It's far easier to look out for indication by observing your baby when:
- Baby can hold the head upright.
- Baby can sit up well in the high chair
- Baby shows interest in lumpy to choppy food, etc.
- Baby knows how to move food to the back of the tongue to swallow.

As toddler progress, more outdoor activities is expected. Therefore the exposure to infection is greatly increased. Disinfection and hand hygiene should be practised to avoid sickness like

Parental Care
Parental care to guide a toddler to differentiate and how to avoid accidental poisoning and burn is imperative.
