Hey,  I'm back to commence on the analysis of the  Gan Lu Xiao Du Dan and reiterate that She Gan and Lian Qiao would not be analysed in this blog.  Please refer to my blog: part 16 published in February 2022 as a quick revision for Lian Qiao and part 23 published in May 2022 for She Gan.

Although I'm not repeating the analysis of She Gan and Lian Qiao, it is necessary to list out one important (must memorise) point to be mentioned here regarding the application and selection of She Gan and Lian Qiao as the division 4 officers' herb are

She Gan - regulates and soothe the airway to the lung and ease throat inflammation

Lian Qiao - aids Huang Qin to purge the heat and wetness out of the bladder

Mu Tong

Hey,  I'm back to continue on the analysis of the Gan Lu Xiao Du Dan: the division 4 officer's herb which is Bei Mu.  Typically, Bei Mu is the common name for Fritillaria and is divided into 2 main types depending on the harvested areas.  For those grown and harvested in the west and north west of mainland China is called Chuan Bei Mu.  As for those grown and harvested in the Central and Southern Mainland China is called Zhe Bei Mu.

Without delay, the 

Division 4 officer's herbs is:

• Bei Mu

As specified in the blog part 59, the pathological situation lies in the Qi level, where

• Fever
• Sore throat
• Pain
• Swelling and thirsty
• Short red urine 

are the results caused by the heat accumulated.

As a rule of thumb, it is very appropriate to apply:

• (Ku Gan Han Hua Tan Zhi Ke Qing Re San Jie ) 

whenever Bei Mu  is used
