This is how to Analyse The Therapeutic Functions Of The Various Decoctions part 87

Hey, good day everybody, I'm back to do a comparison between the 4 formulae designated to "Cool the heaty blood in the way to Stop Bleeding" in the TCM perspective.

These are the 4 formulae used in the above aforesaid catergory, namely;

  • Xi Jiao Di Huang Tang
  • Yu Nu Jian
  • Xiao Ji Yin Zi
  • Huai Hua San

Reiteration

It is particularly important to note:

  • Huai Hua San is Not suitable for Yin or Qi deficient patients

They may have some overlapping similar observations for selection of each formula. Therefore the specific observation would suffice the selection.

Xi Jiao Di Huang Tang

is more suitable when these observations are more obvious :

  • accumulated heat had scorched the blood collateral causing:
  • blood vomitting
  • epistaxis
  • blood urine
  • bloody stool (These are caused by the heat forcing blood to flow out of its own pathway.  The collateral is further break into [yang type coĺlateral and the Yin collateral], yang type cause blood to flow off its path upwards inducing blood vomitting and epistaxis. And Yin type would cause bloody urine and stool in the downwards direction.

Yu Nu Jian

is more suitable for when there is toothache with or without bleeding.

The prerequisite of :Shao Yin Bu Zhu and Yang Ming You Yu are the deciding factors in selecting this formula.

The overall effect is to:

  • Cool the blood flow and stop bleeding in the TCM perspective

Xiao Ji Yin Zi

is quite similar to Xi Jiao Di Huang Tang particularly:

  • 1) is a natural powerful remedy for treatment of blood urine.
  • 2) is appropriate and primarily suitable for eliminating carbuncle

Huai Hua San

is more suitable for bleeding from the Intestine.  How and why factors are analysed in the previous blogs. Please do a quick revision.

How to analyse the therapeutic functions of the various decoctions part 87 would return soonest.

Lastly, I would leave you now so as to keep the message short and effectively clear.

Best of all

This is how to Analyse The Therapeutic Functions Of The Various Decoctions part 86

Hey,  I'm back to commence on the analysis of the Huai Hua San using
  • ZHI KE

specifically to act as Messenger's herb fulfilling the fundamental requirements.  Please revise the messenger's herb fundalmentals and you would understand it, is half the rent paid.

Although Jing Jie Sui as the 2nd minister's herb would not be analysed here, it's still necessary to put up it's purpose in this formula.  So,
  • Jing Jie Sui is able to expel the wind while entering the Xue level to stop bleeding in the TCM perspective

And  now, without further delay, I'll analyse the therapeutic functions of Zhi Ke in this decoction

  • besides performing its primary role to aid the Monarch's herb in cooling the blood stream
  • as well as remove Qi blockages effectively in the TCM perspective.
  • Effectively eliminate rectal Tenesmus

The reasons for selection of Zhi Ke as the Messenger's herb:

  • 1) to remove effectively Qi blockage targeting the complaint of feeling being bloated by the child primarily
  • 2) act as alleviative catalyst for the whole decoction( only near ripen orange)
  • 3) can dissolve phlegm enabling   smoother Qi passage in the TCM perspective

Let's start with the threshold established so far:

Association to a Specific Meridian Channel

Zhi Ke must be the nearly ripen orange of  aurantium or wilsonii tanaka or trifoliata orange species to be used.  This is because of the mitigating and alleviative effect of the medicinal property verse the  unripe type.

Zhi Ke is associated with the:
  • Spleen
  • Stomach
  • Large Intestine - meridian channels respectively

Specific Taste

Zhi Ke
possesses a much stronger bitter and Astringent taste.

Specific Properties

Next, I'll touch on the specific property of  Zhi Ke which is moderate cold.

As a rule of thumb, it is very appropriate to apply:

(Ku Xin Han Pò qì xiāo jī, huà tán chú pǐ)

whenever Zhi Ke is used.

I would like to leave you now with this  blog so as to give you more time to digest it.

Best of all,

Xiong
