This is how to analyse the therapeutic functions of the various decoctions part Seventy seven

Hey, I'm  back to continue on the demystification of Yu Nu Jian but before we go on further, here is 2 other important points for you to browse on my previous blog on TCM fundalmentals:

  • Shao Yin Bu Zu
  • Yang Ming You Yu

These 2 fundalmental principles unveil  the demystifying Yu Nu Jian because Yang Ming stomach meridian is heated up with the scrotched Yin cause heat to move upwards resulting in these symptoms in the TCM perspective:

  1. Headache
  2. Toothaches
  3. Gum bleeding

This is how to Analyse The Therapeutic Functions Of The Various Decoctions part 77.  The reasons for selection of Shu Di as the minister's herb is:

  • a natural powerful regulative remedy for:
  •      Irregular Menstruation
  •      Palpitation and Dizziness
  •      Anaemia and Chlorosis
  •      Night Sweat
  •      Dizziness

(Dizziness is a general feeling of being off-balance. Giddiness is the feeling that you or your surroundings are moving or spinning) in the TCM perspective.

Let's start with the threshold established so far:

Association to a Specific Meridian Channel

Shu Di is better known as Rehmannia Glutinosa and only the root is used.  It has a sticky and dark black colour appearance.  This is because of the  repeated drying and steaming process done on the sliced root.

Shu Di is associated with the:
  • Liver
  • Kidney - meridian channels respectively

Specific Taste

Shu Di possesses a sweet taste.

Specific Properties

Next, I'll touch on the specific property of
  • Shu Di
which is  Luke warm.

As a rule of thumb,

Apply (Gan Wen Yǎng xiě zī yīn bǔ jīng yì suǐ) whenever Shu Di is used.

I'll be back soonest with how to analyse the therapeutic functions of the various decoctions on next herb in the formula.

Best of all,

Xiong
