This is how to analyse the therapeutic functions of the various decoctions part Seventy Five

Hey, good day everybody, I'm back to continue on the same topic with these remaining formulas:

Sheng Jiang Xie Xin Tang

Gan Cao Xie Xin Tang  

Without delay ,let's start on how to analyse the therapeutic functions of the various decoctions part Seventy Five with:

Sheng Jiang Xie Xin Tang

The decoction emphasizes on the functions of Sheng Jiang after the changes in quantity.

The main difference is now there is a shift in quantity between Gan Jiang vs  Sheng Jiang in Sheng Jiang Xie Xin Tang and Gan Cao Xie Xin Tang respectively. 

For Sheng Jiang Xie Xin Tang; the main difference is:
  • increase Sheng Jiang to 12g 
  • decrease Gan Jiang to 3g

Main function for this decoction,it:

  • Soothes the stomach   
  • Eliminates bloating, 
  • Unblock stagnation  
  • Reduce water retention.

Symptoms and observations; these are the obvious symptoms to lookout:

  • Dry burping with smelly food odor 
  • Stomach growling 
  • Diarrhoea 


As a rule of thumb, it is very appropriate to apply:
(hé wèi xiāo pǐ sàn jié chú shuǐ) whenever Sheng Jiang Xie Xin Tang is used. 


Next:


Gan Cao Xie xin Tang 

The obvious change would be:
  • Increase Gan Cao to 9g 
  • Remove Ren Sheng totally.

Main function for this decoction, it:

  • Invigorates Qi
  • Harmonizes the stomach
  • Eliminates bloating 
  • Stop vomiting


Symptoms and observations; these are the obvious symptoms to lookout
  • Indigestion 
  • Cardinal Anxiety


  
As a rule of thumb, it is very appropriate to apply:
(yì qì hé wèi xiāo pǐ zhǐ ǒu) whenever Gan Cao Xie Xin Tang is used.
