Hey, I'm back to commence on the analysis of the Zhi Shi Dao Zhi Wan, using Zhi Shi to partner as minister's herbs directly fuelling the desired reactions to ease indigestion, very similar to Zhi Ke but at a much more powerful level than Zhi Ke in the TCM perspective.
And now, without further delay, I'll analyse the therapeutic functions of Zhi Shi in this decoction:
- besides performing its primary role to aid the Monarch's herb in cooling the blood stream effectively removes wetness and heat stagnation
- removes Qi blockages effectively in the TCM perspective.
- Effectively eliminate rectal Tenesmus
The reasons for selection of Zhi Shi as the minister's herb:
- 1) to remove effectively Qi blockage targeting the complaint of feeling being bloated by the child primarily
- 2) can dissolve phlegm enabling smoother Qi passage in the TCM perspective
Let's start with the threshold established so far:
Association to a Specific Meridian Channel
Zhi Shi must be the green unripe orange of aurantium or wilsonii tanaka or trifoliata orange species to be used.
Zhi Shi is associated with the:
- Spleen
- Stomach
- Large Intestine - meridian channels respectively
Specific Taste
Zhi Shi
possesses a much stronger bitter and Astringent taste.
Specific Properties
Next, I'll touch on the specific property of Zhi Shi which is moderate cold.
As a rule of thumb, it is very appropriate to apply:
(Ku Xin Han Pò Qì Xiāo Ji, Huà Tán Chú Pǐ)
whenever Zhi Shi is used.
