Hey, I'm back to discuss with you the effect of the messenger's herb.  I'm feeling very excited and refreshing,  This time round we are analysing the effects of honey or feng mi in Decoction.

The reasons for selecting feng mi as the 4th messenger herb are:


  • 1) feng mi regulate the toxic effects of the various herbs 
  • 2)  form a sugar coating to preserve the herbs to last for a longer period of time as an gong NIU Huang wan is a pill 




Association to a Specific Meridian Channel


Xiong Huang is associated with the

  • Spleen 
  • Lung
  • Large intestine- meridian channels respectively


Specific Taste


Feng mi possesses a sweet taste.





Specific Properties


Next, I'll touch on the specific property of Feng mi which is neutral 











As a rule of thumb, it is very appropriate to apply:

(Jiě dú shā chóng) whenever feng mi   is used.
