This is how to analyse the therapeutic functions of the various decoctions part 136

Hey, I'm back to analyze the next group of the 6 minister's herb namely; 





Qīng Mu Xiang 


heading the lead in our new formula, Su He Xiang Wan dedicated for:


Relief Shock and Resuscitation


And as usual it's necessary to list out the purposes and reasons why the other 5 minister's herbs are selected to complement each other;

  • Bai Tan Xiang 
  • Ding Xiang 
  • Chen Xiang
  • Ru Xiang 
  • Xiang Fu Zi 
to perform four functions:
  • Unblock Qi stagnation
  • Relieve cardinal anxiety 
  • Disperse accumulated coldness 
  • Eliminates internal impurity 






The reasons why Qing Mu Xiang is selected as the minister's herb which is further break into 3 parts as below:



1) it is a natural powerful regulative remedy for:
Air passage way blockage in other words, it could relieve pain because of it's capability to enable a better Qi flow in the body in the TCM perspective 
2) eliminates internal impurity obstruction such as wetness and blood stasis caused by the Qi stagnation in the TCM perspective 
3) treats the toxic effects of envenomation such as; 
neurotoxicity (paralysis) or 
vasculotoxicity; is also powerful in overcoming snake bit.



We are still within the perimeter of the above and not drift away. 



Association to a Specific Meridian Channel


Qing Mu Xiang is the entwined  herbaceous plant better known as Aristolochia and only the root is used

It is associated with:  

  1. Liver
  2. Stomach - Meridian Channel respectively


Specific Taste

The specific taste of Qing Mu Xiang is bitter and pungent.



Specific Properties

The Specific Property of Qīng Mu Xiang is slightly cold.



Rule of the thumb: 

Apply Xing Qi zhǐ tòng jie du whenever Qing Mu Xiang is used
