This is how to analyse the therapeutic functions of the various decoctions part 131

Hey, I'm back to analyze one of the four monarch's herbs, namely; Su He Xiang You in our new formula, Su He Xiang Wan dedicated for:


Relief Shock and Resuscitation


And as usual it's necessary to list out the purposes and reasons why the other 3 monarch's herbs are selected to complement each other;

  • She Xiang - being pungent and warm nevertheless is capable of awakening unconsciousness via it's aromatic therapeutic property 
  • Bing Pian - being bitter, pungent and slightly cold perform in the same way like She Xiang to complement Su He Xiang to awake the unconsciousness.
  • An Xí Xiang - being bitter and lukewarm could just complement all the aromatic herbs found in the decoction to awake the unconsciousness.





This is how to Analyse The Therapeutic Functions Of The Various Decoctions part 131.


The reasons why Su He Xiang is selected as the monarch's herb which is further break into 2 parts as below:


1) it is a natural powerful regulative remedy for

  1. Shock
  2. Sudden unconsciousness 
  3. Dirilium -_- all due to coldness accumulated 

2) it is an effective remedy for relieving Pain related to the abdomen.



We are still within the perimeter of the ab

ove and not drift away. 


Association to a Specific Meridian Channel

Su He Xiang oilment is the resin drained from the trunk of Liquidambar Orientalis family plant.

It is associated with:  

  1. Heart
  2. Spleen - Meridian Channel respectively


Specific Taste

The specific taste of Su He Xiang is bitter and pungent.



Specific Properties

The Specific Property of Su He Xiang is warm.


Rule of the thumb: 

Apply Kāi qiào pì huì zhǐ tòng whenever Su He Xiang You is used
